Kayak, Float Tube & Raft Rentals

Visit our rental shop in downtown Hotchkiss for information and great equipment before you set out on your solo North Fork Valley adventure. Experienced boaters will enjoy paddling local rivers, such as the Gunnison and North Fork of the Gunnison River, or relaxing at one of our many lakes, such as Crawford State Park. Our top-quality inflatable equipment is made by industry leaders such as NRS and AIRE Tributary. Kayak and raft rental packages come with boat, paddles and personal flotation device for each participant. Tube rentals come a la carte.

Rentals are available for pick-up and drop-off at our rental shop, 328 W Bridge St in downtown Hotchkiss. Our rafts kayaks and float tubes are inflatable, which means you can request them fully inflated, or rolled up for travel.

Our friendly staff will assist you in loading fully inflated kayaks or tubes onto roof racks or truck beds. Tie-down straps are included in your rental. No roof racks? Your equipment will be deflated and rolled up before you arrive, rolled kayaks and tubes fits easily into any back seat or trunk. Inflation pump and instructions are included in your rental.

Rafts dimensions are 14’ x 7’. Fully inflated rafts will not fit in truck beds or on top of vehicles. Rolled rafts will fit in truck beds, or large SUVs, however they will not fit in standard passenger cars. The only way to transport a fully inflated raft is by trailer. Western Slope SUP does not rent trailers. Previous rafting experience is required for anyone renting rafts.

Inflatable Kayak Single/Tandem

Explore the Western Slope waterways in an inflatable kayak. Single and Tandem options available. Inflatable kayaks come with a PFD and paddle for each paddler.

Half Day: $40/$60
Full Day: $50/$70

14’ Raft

Enjoy a day on the river in one of our full sized 14’ rafts. Whether you are tackling whitewater rapids, or floating the mellow Gunnison River, we have the perfect raft for you. Each raft rental comes with PFD’s, paddles, or oars.

Previous experience is required to rent a 14' raft. Raft rental comes with 14' raft, oars and frame, or paddles, up to 8 PFD's, barrel pump, and repair kit.

Raft dimensions are 14' x 7' and weigh 150 lbs. Inflated rafts can be transported on appropriate trailers. Trailers must be large enough to hold the raft, and free of sharp edges. Inflated rafts will not fit in, or on vehicles. Deflated rafts roll up into a 4x4' package.

Float tube

Take a seat in one of our full-sized float tubes and treat yourself to a lazy day on the water. Tube rental comes with one PFD.

Rental Policy

We require 100% payment up front to secure your rental reservation. This can be refunded if cancellations are made 48 hours or more before your rental pick-up time. Store credit will be given for cancellations within 48-24 hours of rental pick-up time. No refunds will be given for cancellations with 24 hours of pick-up, or no-shows.

At the time of rental, you will be required to sign a liability and damage responsibility waiver stating that you will be financially responsible for any lost or damaged rental gear. We also require a valid Driver’s license and current address on file as a damage deposit. We reserve the right to charge a $20 cleaning fee per item if the gear is returned excessively dirty.

Pick Up / Drop Off Policy

You may pick up full day rental at opening of business, and it must be returned by the end of the business day. Multi-day rentals must be returned by the end of business on the last day of your rental. Any rentals returned late will be charged for an additional rental day.

Colorado State Law requires each paddle board or kayak to have a PFD and whistle on board for every adult on/in the craft, on any lake or flatwater river. Children under 12 years old must wear a lifejacket at all times
